Description
WWII German Army Double Decal Helmet, Reissued from Model 1918 WWI Helmet-This is a great example that was originally a WWI combat example. It was reissued for use during the Third Reich. It now has a field grey combat finish that remains 70% intact with a few small dings in the top of the dome. There is an army decal on the left side that is 75% intact and the tri color shield on the right has been touched up with paint. Inside is a Model 1931 style liner system that replaced the earlier three pad liner. It was treated at some point and is very dark. It is still very soft and in good condition, with minor wear. It is a size 59. The liner band is actually the earliest type, non reinforced aluminum and dated 1931. It is also size stamped 68. The drawstring is a replacement. The liner size is painted in the rear skirt. The side of the interior is maker stamped but it is covered by the reissue finish. The buckle side of the chinstrap is present. This is a great transitional example!
