Description

WWII German Model 1940 DAK Tropical Helmet with Veteran Provenance-This is a very handsome example in a tropical tan DAK finish with a distinctive pink hue. It was brought home by a GI who was a major. An old tag that is affixed to the helmet says it was captured by the major in Africa in 1943. The tan finish remains a solid 80% intact. The most unique feature is the super neat hand painted black eagle at the front of the helmet. Nice! Inside is a brown leather, size 56 liner that is in very good condition. It is soft and clean. There is a drawstring and a zinc liner band that is dated 1939, maker marked and size stamped 64/56. The side of the interior is stamped Q 66 indicating production by Quist in the size of 66. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number 4140. We will supply the name of the veteran to the buyer. Great condition!
