Reproduction Marsch Getränk Aluminum Drink Powder Tube

At long last, a reproduction of the Wehrmacht aluminum drink powder tubes, Marsch Getränk. Each tube would have held enough drink mix to make 2L of drink. This was essentially the electrolyte powder of its era provided to men on long marches. I made these from an aluminum tube that was extremely close to the original in size, These are a couple millimeters longer than the original, but the diameter is nearly exact.I am selling the tube empty for a few reasons; firstly you can find your own preferred drink powder flavor to fill it with (although I believe the original was lemon flavored) and secondly, these tubes are not coated inside, they are just bare aluminum. This means that storing salt-heavy electrolyte powder in them for long periods might eat away the tube, as was a pretty common occurrence on originals. You will be fine refilling these tubes for a weekend reenactment, but it would be best to store them clean and empty when not at an event. Like the original, these are made from relatively thin aluminum. They will hold up well in most conditions but can be crushed if abused. The lids slip on and off. All fit snugly and some fit tighter than others, but all are reasonable easy to remove with a gentle touch. I wanted to ensure the lids would not be too loose and easily fall off, but that also means they might be just a little bit tight to open. At least they won't leak.This is a project that I intended to make many years ago but it was only recently I figured out a way of resizing the lids and pressing in the markings in a way that produced a good result. The markings are not quite as crisp as an original, but they are very close. Each lid has to go through 4 separate stamping operations to size and mark. This might be the only batch I make so there might not be a restock unless there in enormous demand for them but I am fairly sure I just made these because I wanted them and am not sure anyone else is as jazzed about this as me.
