About the item: Nice and in very good condition Volkspflege award document. About the Volkspflege : Adolf Hitler established the Honor Award for German Public Welfare (Ehrenzeichen für deutsche Volkspflege) on 1 May 1939. It honored individuals who served in public welfare, the Winter Relief Program, care for the sick and wounded, rescue services, promotion of German culture, and support for Germans abroad. The award replaced the Honor Decoration of the German Red Cross, which authorities no longer issued. Adolf Hitler, Rudolf Hess, Wilhelm Frick, Franz Seldte, Joseph Goebbels, Joachim von Ribbentrop, Wilhelm Keitel, and Otto Meissner, Chief of the Presidential Chancellery, signed the decree.
