About the item: Very nice and in very good condition Der Pimpf magazine from May 1940. About the magazine: Der Pimpf (German for 'The Boy') was a Nazi propaganda magazine for boys in the Deutsches Jungvolk, the junior branch of the Hitler Youth. It began in 1935 under the name Morgen and changed to Der Pimpf in 1937. The magazine ran until July 1944. It featured adventure stories, reports on Hitler Youth activities, and strong ideological content. The final issue urged boys to follow the example of the SS, highlighting the SS Division 'Hitler Jugend'. Its female counterpart, Das deutsche MΓ€del, focused more on culture and domestic roles. It did not emphasize adventure or military themes. Origin of the Name 'Pimpf' The word Pimpf came from slang used in the German Youth Movement. It later referred specifically to boys in the Deutsches Jungvolk. In Upper German dialects, it means 'boy,' 'rascal,' or 'scamp.' Click HERE for more info about the Deutsches Jungvolk
