About the item: Nice and in good condition Sudeten occupation (single) medal bar. About the Sudeten medal: The 1 October 1938 Commemorative Medal (German: Die Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938), often referred to as the Sudetenland Medal, was a Nazi German award given during the interwar period and was the second in a series of Occupation Medals. Established on 18 October 1938, the medal was presented to those involved in the occupations of the Sudetenland in October 1938 and Czechoslovakia in March 1939. Recipients included all German State officials and members of the German Wehrmacht and SS who entered the Sudetenland on 18 October 1938, as well as Sudeten Nazis who had supported unification with Germany. A special bar was later added to the ribbon for those who took part in the occupation of the remaining parts of Czechoslovakia on 15 March 1939, and for others who provided significant assistance. The medal was last awarded on 31 December 1940, with a total of 1,162,617 medals and 134,563 bars distributed. Click HERE for more info about the Sudetenland medal
