Eastern Front Medal

OriginalEastern Front Medal (Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42), commonly known as the Ostmedaille or WIO. This award was presented to German and Axis soldiers who served on the Eastern Front during the harsh winter of 1941–42. This example isunmarked, as was typical for many wartime-issued pieces.
