Japanese Meiji Era Russo Japanese War Army Officers Hat

Original era manufacture. Tall, early 1886 pattern hat of dark blue wool. Quilted pink silk lining with a rising sun design. Black calfskin leather sweatband. Narrow black patent leather visor and chinstrap with brass chrysanthemum side buttons. The body of the hat is quite rigid, showing normal age and wear with minimal moth damage. The front portion of the sweatband shows some bug nibbling, but nothing terrible.
