Japanese Meiji Pattern Army EM Canteen

Original era manufacture. An early aluminum bodied canteen developed under the reign of Emperor Meiji and issued with minor changes (canvas instead of leather suspension) into the early 1930's. Cylindrical canteen body with a brown overpaint and brown leather suspension harness and strap. The canteen is fairly complete except for the cap securing strap which is missing about 4 inches of its length. The strap buckle is intact, needs a little stitch repair on the reverse of the harness.
