Original German WWII NSDAP National Socialist Party First Pattern Flag Pole Finial 'Topper' with Wood Stand - Plated Brass

This is a very nice WWII German National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei - NSDAP) First Pattern Flag Pole Finial or Topper (Fahnenstange Endstück) Eagle. It is constructed of nickel plated brass alloy, and is the early multi-part design. Unfortunately, while the topper still has the attachment rod, the socket fitting on the bottom is missing. It does however come with a block of wood measuring 5 3/8' x 4 1/8' x 1 7/16', which has a hole drilled in the middle to display the pole topper. It is free from major damage, though there is a bit of a bend to the back above the wreath, and the tip of the right wing is also a bit bent.The design is the standard NSDAP 'Spread Wing'Reichsadler(National Eagle), which looks to its right, and is perched on an oak-leaf wreath, with a mobile/cantedSwas(hook cross) in the center. It measures 8 1/2 inches tall including the 1 1/4 inch threaded rod, and is 8 5/8 inches wide at the tips of the wings. There is some oxidation to the plating on the eagle, but only a few places of wear through to the brass base material. The black paint on the swas is retained at about 60% on both sides.These Flag Pole Finials are extremely hard to find, as most were destroyed or melted back down as scrap.
