Description
Item DescriptionOriginal Items. Only One Group Available. The M1926 inflatable flotation belt was used as a life preserver by assault troops during amphibious actions and beach landings. The belt was inflated by squeezing two switches located inside the belt, which activated two CO2 bottles. If the CO2 bottles failed, the belt could still be inflated by blowing into the rubber tubes, which have valves on the ends. This is a fantastic set of three, two of which are in unissued condition in their original storage crate with dove-tailed lid. A third service-worn example is included that combined with the crate of two unissued belts will make for an outstanding display. The storage crate measures 5 ΒΎ x 8 ΒΌ x 23 ΒΌ' and retains bits of the original leather straps at the top. There are three slots for folded up belts, and two belts in great unissued condition are retained, datedMayandOctober of 1944. The third more inflated belt is datedSeptember 1944.Offered in great condition, this is a fantastic crate of WWII Life Preservers made famous by the D-Day invasion.Ready for further research and display!Shipping RestrictionsThis product is available for international shipping.Payment OptionsEligible for all payments - Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX, Paypal & Sezzle
