Description
Item DescriptionOriginal Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a very interesting Slovakian Army Officer's sword used during the Pre-WWII to WWII period, during the beginning of the 1st Slovak Republic era. The sword has a lovely motif on the guard with leaves surrounding the Coat of Arms of Slovakia. The hilt bears a wire-wrapped sharkskin grip that shows some heavy loss of the sharkskin in spots, likely from use. The guard has some denting but still retains the lovely Slovakian motif. The guard under the blade is stamped on either sideZAK. CHRANENE / WLASZLOVITS, and one side of the ricasso is stampedWLASZLOVITSŠTOS380This denotes manufacture by the firm ofJoseph WlaszovitsinŠtos. The opposite side of the ricasso is stamped:Z.I.0.0.2.4H (PROOF) 25This is likely a sort of unit marking, but it is faint and difficult to properly transcribe. The 30' blade is in good order with some cleaned oxidation. The sword is 35⅜'.The 31 ⅞' scabbard shows heavy wear and loss to the plating with heavy oxidation seeping through. There is one suspension ring and one mount for a belt attachment.Ready for further research and display!Specifications:Overall length: 35 3/8'Blade length: 30'Scabbard Length: 31 7/8'Shipping RestrictionsThis product is available for international shipping.Payment OptionsEligible for all payments - Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX, Paypal & Sezzle
