Original Japanese WWII Imperial Japanese Army Enlisted Men's Quilted Forage Cap - Likely Army, Possibly Civilian Employee

Item DescriptionOriginal Item: Only One Available. This is a very interesting, worn example of a quilted enlisted man's forage cap. The cap is lined on the interior and has an oilcloth sweatband which is intact but very worn. Features the classic string closure eyelets to the back with closure string. The front features a lovely yellow felt five-pointed imperial Japanese star cap badge on a circle. There is also a decorative leather chin strap across the front, as is standard, with two vent eyelets per side.This is the first quilted example we have ever seen, and therefore we cannot say with 100% certainty that it was meant for use by the Army. It could just as well have been used by a civilian employee. A good research project. There are no Kanji markings anywhere.All in all a nice service-worn example of a WW2 Japanese cap, quality items of this kind are very rarely encountered.Forage CapsForage cap is the designation given to various types of military undress, fatigue or working headwear. These varied widely in form, according to country or period.
