Description

Original era manufacture. Spanish made sword marked Toledo Ano 1900 on the obverse of the blade. 31 inch polished steel blade with etched panels on each side of the blade. Nickel pommel and guard bearing the eagle & snake emblem of the Republic of Mexico. Fishskin wrapped grip showing wear in spots, single twisted wire binding. Chromed steel scabbard which is relatively dent-free, old dark corrosion in spots as shown. Scarce sword, perhaps a souvenir of the Punitive Expedition in 1916.
