Item DescriptionOriginal Items: Only One Set Available. As had been tradition since before the first world war, members of the German Army could identify their basic rank, unit, and other information withKragenpatten(Collar Tabs) andSchulterklappen(Shoulder Straps). Until 1915 there was however no standardized system of colors and designs used, but during WWI this definitely proved to be a liability so standardWaffenfarben(Corps Colors) branch of service were instituted. These were retained through the Weimar period into WWII, with additional colors being added as new branches were made. At the same time, the shoulder board rank indicators were also simplified, so that the same basic design of straps on the shoulder was used for all members of the Army, from a Soldat up to a Feldmarschall, which also meant that for the most part, with the collar tabs and shoulder straps, one would know the exact branch and rank of the wearer. This is a lovely set of German WWII Heer Army Infantry Major Officer Uniform rank insignia, which consists of the following:- One MATCHED PAIR (left and right) of Heer ArmyOffiziere Kragenpatten(Officer Shoulder Tabs) for the field and service uniform, made from the standard internal lacquered buckram stiffeners wrapped with aflaschengrün(dark bottle-green) wool backing. These have two parallel bullion hand embroideredLitzenspiegelon the backing, symbolizing the double braid of the 19th century. Each of these has aWeiß(white)Mittelstreifen(median strip), the correctWaffenfarbe(Corps Color) forInfanterie(Infantry) andMotorisiert Infanterie(Motorized Infantry.- One MATCHED PAIR of 'sew in' style Heer ArmyStabsoffizier schulterklappen(Field-grade Officer shoulder boards), constructed with two rows of fine silver flatware 'Russia Braid' double piping, which are plaited together to form a loop around the buttonhole. There are no rank 'pips', indicating the rank of Major, a rank equivalent to a Major in the U.S. Army. They have the correct white wool base material for infantry.Condition overall is very nice, showing wear to the bullion, particularly on the collar tabs. There is a bit of mothing to the wool components but nothing major. A great complete set of Infantry Officer Uniform Rank Insignia, ready to display or even fit to a uniform!Shipping RestrictionsThis product is available for international shipping.Shipping not available to: Australia, France, or GermanyPayment OptionsNot eligible for payment with Paypal or AmazonLegal InformationDue to legal restrictions this item cannot be shipped to Australia, France or Germany.
