US Civil War M1840 NCO Sword, Emerson & Silver 1863

Original era manufacture. Polished steel, 32 inch blade with clear markings on its ricasso. Mix of mottling and polish to the blade surface. Cast brass guard and grip with a mellow brass patina. Blue steel scabbard body with brass throat and drag. There is some light surface rust on the scabbard(we haven't tried to clean it)but looks not too deep. The upper fitting screw is missing, the drag screw is present, but the lower portion of the drag is a bit distorted from service use. No denting to the body itself. Basically a sound 150 year old sword from a local estate.
