Unknown WWII Fighting Knife, Possibly Soviet

Original era manufacture. We purchased this unusual knife many years ago and thought at the time that it was of Soviet WWII origin. Simple 6.5 inch double edge blade, hollow sheet steel curved grip with a black painted finish. Plain leather scabbard with matching belt loop and pommel strap with a closure buckle. There are no markings to seen. This was part of a grouping of WWII era Russian uniforms and equipment.
