French WWI 1916 Fighting Knife & Scabbard

Original era manufacture. Very clean example with a double edged, dagger type steel blade with a simple crossguard and wooden grip. Sheet steel scabbard missing its large steel wire belt loop. Maker marked on the ricasso, S.C.C.O. This weapon served as the basis of the US M1918 trench knife in WWI. Normal age and wear.
