Italian WWII Battleship Conte di Cavour Launch Medal

Original era manufacture. A 27mm bronze medal bearing the likeness of Italian Count Camillo Benso di Cavour on its obverse with a depiction of the Battleship Conte di Cavour on the reverse. Above the ship is the vessel's motto 'Nessuno-Secondo' Second To None. She was a pre WWI ship which was rebuilt 1933-1937 into a more modern battleship and was sunk in shallow waters by a British aircraft torpedo in November of 1940. Scrapped in 1947.
