Japanese WWII Type 19 Cavalry Officers Sword, Family Mon

Original era manufacture. Chromed steel blade, 33 inches in length with a false temper line. Few small nicks in the edge, nothing severe. Black plastic covered grip with wire binding. The wire is more or less there but is a bit loose and needs to be tightened. Cast brass guard and pommel with decoration denoting a Company Grade officer, nice silver Mon on the backstrap. Nickel or chrome finished scabbard with a good sized dent on the surface towards the tip. The brass guard has been pushed in slightly and can be straigtened I think. The Type 19 Cavalry Officers swords have a unique pattern guard, you don't see these as often as the Infantry pattern.
