Original era manufacture. This is a real shame, what a wonderful old helmet this once was. Still, it hopefully will provide some good bones for a restoration project. The exterior has been coated with some kind of sticky substance with the intent of preservation. Most of it should wipe off with some mineral spirits. The small Peninsula banner is missing from the side of the wappen.
