Bulgarian WWII M1936/A Steel Helmet, German Mfg

Original era manufacture. First pattern helmet with a rolled edge and a one piece steel shell with four liner rivets and complete leather liner. Traces of the Bulgarian tri-color decal on the right side of the helmet. Size 54. The smallest of Germany's Axis Allies during WWII. In September of 1944, faced with an imminent Soviet invasion, Bulgaria declared war on Nazi Germany and joined the Soviets.
