German Pre WWII Army Ordnance Sword, Matching, Eickhorn Mfg G Date 1935

Description

Original era manufacture. Issue sword as carried by mounted units of the German Army prior to the outbreak of WWII. The blade and blue steel scabbard bear the matching serial number of 5880 along with the makers code of CE/G with the letter G indicating a year of manufacture of 1935. Numerous waffenamt proofs appear on the blade, guard and scabbard attesting to the prewar quality of this weapon. The 28 inch polished steel blade is clean and straight with its leather bumper in place at the guard. The plastic grip retains its original twisted wire binding with some surface cracks to the plastic near the pommel. Typical scratching, dings and dents to the brass guard and pommel, leather finger loop torn. The blue steel scabbard has a few surface dents and evidence of a cleaning, throat screw is missing.
