Japanese WWII 1000 Stitch Belt or Headband

Original era manufacture. 3x44 inch white cotton belt or headband with 905 stitches (yup, we counted'em)and and handwritten kanji in the center. Scattered staining from wear but quite sound overall and a rather unusual pattern.
