New Zealand WWII Fighting Knife & Scabbard

Original era manufacture. Wartime expedient knife with a cast aluminum grip and a simple blue steel spear point blade, sound original leather scabbard. During WWII many of these saw service with US troops in the Pacific. See page 166, figure 187 in the book United States Military Knives by Silvey & Boyd. A sound example showing normal wear and use, the blade appears to have been cleaned at some point.
