Item #63974 : Original period manufacture. Chromed steel, blade measuring 32 inches in length, runs fairly straight and true, slight bend to the left about 3 inches back from the point, lightly rounded point. One small nick in the cutting edge, no corrosion issues to the surface.Ornate, gilded cast brass grip with a lionhead pommel, fitted with red glass eyes. Black plastic wrapped grip, bound with triple strand wire.Blue steel patina finish scabbard with both throat screws remaining intact, with a single suspension ring. There is a crease in the scabbard surface about midway down which makes the sword a little tight to draw or return. A result of the occupational hazard while wearing a sword when mounted on an 800 pound animal around large pieces of artillery. Clean sword otherwise.
