Medals Other Austrian 1873 War Medal, Franz-Joseph 25th Anniversary

Item #63550 : Original era manufacture. A large bronze gilt medal which measures 37 mm in width. The reverse bears the date, 2 December 1873, with that particular marking indicating pre 1900 production. Awarded on the 25th Anniversary of the Reign of Emperor Franz-Joseph, to honor those soldiers who participated in the campaigns of 1848 through 1869. Made from captured cannon. A very nice medal complete with it's  original tri-fold ribbon. Purchased from an old Arizona collection, the collector noted it was purchased in 1968, price, $8.50.
