Swords Other French, Second Empire, Military Justice Officials Sword

Item #63281 : Original era manufacture. Double edged polished steel blade with a double fuller on each side running midway down it's length. The blade measures 32 inches in length running straight and true with a dark steel patina finish. No major nicks in the edges, or corrosion issues. Ornate cast brass single branch guard with a grip decorated with oak leaves. Clam shell guard decorated with a fasces and bundle of flags. The opposite side folds down and hand inscribed into the surface is Lieut-18-1-43. The guard rattles a bit, there is no scabbard, still a decent old sword.
