Item #62049 : Original period manufacture. Cotton embroidery on blue wool felt material. Normal age and wear, small moth edge nibble at 9 o'clock. Measures 2.75 inches across. The 5th Air Force was formed in 1942, and served in the Pacific for the entire war. They were credited with the destruction of 6,298 enemy aircraft, with a loss of 2,494 of their own to enemy fire.
