WWII Japanese Officer Private Purchase Tunic and Breeches-This is a service blouse and breeches for an army 1st lieutenant in the Showa 18 (1943) style. The tunic is a lighter weight example produced in olive brown wool. There is very minor wear and a few tiny holes only. There is a five-button closure and all buttons are gilt finished metal. There is collar insignia with gold piping and two silver stars. There are breast pockets with scalloped flaps and hip pockets with straight flaps. It is a high-quality tunic with a green cloth lining. There is a buttons pocket on the right side and a vertical pocket on the left. The tailor tag reads “Guaranteed by Kasaka University” and there is a stitched name on the closure seam. It is a small size. The breeches are produced in the same material as the tunic. They are in near mint condition, with one tiny hole in the left leg. There are buttoned closures at the lower legs. There are hip pockets and a single rear pocket with a scalloped flap. There is a four button fly with a hook and loop fastener and another button at the waist. There are buttons for the suspenders. The waist is a size 32 and these are 36' in length. An excellent set overall!
