Description

Original era manufacture. Magnetic center EK2 displaying typical age and wear to the original finish remaining on the core. Old silver patina finish to the edge frame and ribbing. Ribbon does not fluoresce under a UV light. Maker marked on the suspension ring CD (Carl Dillenius, Pforzheim), and silver marked .935. This is maker is illustrated as a type 183, page 246 in the two volumen set 'The Iron Cross 1813-1870-1914, The History and Significance of a Medal' by Wertitz & Simons. Of note, the example illustrated in the aforementioned book is silver marked .800.
