- THIS ITEM IS SOLD Waffen-SS officer's visored cap, typical example as offered through the Kleiderkasse, mid war quality product having a high peak and a pleasing saddle shape, the cap body is made of field grey colored trikot wool, the cap band is black velvet, the piping is white wool, having a black composite visor with crosshatched brown colored under surface, the aluminum metallic chin cord is held by two silver painted pebbled buttons, the silver washed zinc SS eagle and skull are affixed with prongs, the prongs do not penetrate the lining, there is no sign of other insignia and both pieces do not appear to have been disturbed, cap is lined in a cream colored rayon to which is stamped 58 in black ink, the cap's brown leatherette liner has a couple of small tears and a paper tag of unknown origin is stapled to one side, cap is lightly aged, there is minor misshaping to the internal cap band stiffener, body, band an piping are undamaged with the exception of a 1cm diameter hole to the cap body on the cap's right 'underhang', good looking cap,
