- THIS ITEM IS SOLD Exceptionally rare Heer Panzer officer's M43 cap, as seemingly was most often the case,this cap is a standard issue EM cap that was wartime modified for wear by an officer, it is constructed of issue quality black wool, lining and some bias materials are grey colored rayon, side loops ate fashioned from grey colored ribbed cotton, cap is well marked but the stamping of dark ble black ink is a little blurred, RBNr, size 57 and 1944 date are contained within a segmented rectangle, size actually is a bit larger, a length of cording with metallic silver covering has been added to the crown by hand and this applied with black cotton thread with the ends joining at the cap's rear, this was very well done, a hand embroidered bullion on green national emblem was added to the cap's front and sewn over the position where the factory applied woven insignia is positioned, the eagle portion of the trapezoid (underneath the bullion eagle) has been removed and the upper sections of the remaining factory applied rosette portion have been folded inward at an angle and sewn down with black thread, the modification gives the appearance of a separately applied rosette, below this are two black painted pebbled steel buttons, cap was service used with some minor staining at the lining where it met the forehead, wool nap is very strong, there is one moth nip to the cap's right side, true originals are impossible to find, in eleven plus years of operation this is the first example of this type we have had the pleasure to offer,
