Spanish Civil War Campaign Medal. With the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in july 1936 the Germans supported the fascist Nationalist Generalissimo Francisco Franco against the communist allied Republican party. The German support consisted of assorted field equipment and weapons, ground personnel and a group of Luftwaffe volunteers designated as the 'Legion Condor'. A neat set that was handed-out to all participants of the Spanish Civil War, implicating that it was also bestowed on many German participants (Spanischen Freiheitskampf Feldzugsmedaille). The medal comes with its confectioned black-red-yellow ribbon in its original wrapping paper and original carton box. Nice original medal in mint and unissued condition.
