East German, Cold War Era M56 Steel Helmet, Complete, Size 56

Original era manufacture. Prototypes of this pattern helmet existed during WWII but never adopted by the Wehrmacht. They were later adopted by the East German Army after 1957. Clean issued helmet with the soldiers name 'Heider' written in ink on the lining. Two sets of numbers stamped into the rim 23 over 66, liner is sound with a complete chinstrap. Honest age and wear.
