Argentine M1898 Cavalry Sword, German Mfg, Weyersburg, Matching

Original era manufacture. A very clean condition example of Imperial German quality manufacture by Weyersburg. The polished steel blade measures 34.5 inches in length, runs straight and true with the Argentine crest on the obverse ricasso, and the Weyersburg name on the reverse. The blade is slightly curved with a scattering of light corrosion spots towards the point. The cutting edge has not been sharpened but does have a run of light surface nicks along the edge, more felt than seen. Massive steel basket guard with a large Argentine crest at center. Serial number A09313 on the quillon of the guard, which matches the number on the scabbard body. Dark molded hard rubber grip. Dent free blue steel finished scabbard which retains nearly 100% of the original finish. Single suspension ring, both throat securing screws are present.
