French M1883 Cavalry Officers Sword & Scabbard, Klingenthal Mfg.

Original era manufacture. Very clean polished steel blade measuring 36 inches in length, running straight and true with no issues. Original leather bumper at the base of the blade, Klingenthal name on the spine. Mellow brass patina finish to the guard, with a floral decoration at the base of the branches and bottom of the pommel cap. On the face of the pommel cap are the original owners initials CA. Horn grip with single strand twisted brass wire binding. Dark steel patina finish on the dent-free scabbard with a single suspension ring, serial number 1837 on the suspension band. The scabbard fits the blade properly but I could not find a corresponding number on the guard or blade, so it might be a swap-out. The guard is loose but the grip is tight.
