Description

Original era manufacture. A solid example of an1868 pattern Bavarian NCO Raupenhelm, made with the two ventilators on each side of the comb. Formed leather body, with a removable lambswool comb at top, with a brass crown and Ludwig L cypher on the front. Brass bound leather visor, brass lion head boss on each side which holds the black leather adjustable chinstrap in place. On the left side is a blue and silver crowned L cockade which supports a green brush. Intact original brown leather sweatband showing wear at the front. The visors are securely attached to the body of the helmet, with the rear visor curling inwards a bit on the sides.
