Italian M1873 Issue Heavy Cavalry Sword

Original era manufacture. Good quality issue sword with a pipe back, 34 inch, slightly curved polished steel blade which runs straight and true, no issues. Heavy steel basket guard with an covered indentation to allow the thumb to rest comfortably on the top of the grip. Heavy steel back strap with a checked design for grip security. Simple, one piece wooden grip.The polished steel scabbard has a single suspension ring, with some surface denting towards the drag, few spots of light surface corrosion. There is a hand stamped serial number on the guard, and another on the drag but they do not match.
