Description

This phenomenal US grouping is a recent woodwork find, brought back by a US CBI (China/Burma/India) Veteran, consisting of late war nco 1944 pattern Japanese sword (gunto) with rare pineapple grip. Also, a British Machete by Josh Beals & Sons Sheffield 1942, and a Type 30 Arisaka bayonet with Hooked Quillon Cross Guard and last but not least, a Veteran Ike Jacket. The machete retains the original scabbard that the veteran inscribed β€œIndia -I received this on April 25,1944” and on the obverse β€œWG 32896039 Brooklyn.” The late war nco Sword was decorated a bit by the veteran, likely as a souvenir / trophy, and done during the war. The items were all given to the son in 1965 when he was 13 years old, and never left the family until now, and were all acquired in Staten Island NY where the veteran resided. This is a unique and fantastic set from a seldom seen CBI veteran (family photo not included). COA accompanies.
