(R.H.) Minty German Reichswehr Helmet

Sold
$2100.00

Description

Offered here is a rare and near perfect example of a Reichswehr period helmet. The helmet shell is a Pea green color overall, with mild patina evident. The hand rendering and color of the tricolor shield is typical of Reichswehr and for early transitional helmets. It exhibits crackling / patina typical of it’s 90 years of age, yet is vibrant and perfectly intact. The liner is marked size 66 and dated 1931. The chin strap is only half present (long portion); the buckle side being missing. There is an inscription in the rear that is largely illegible, but the bottom word appears to be hptm, which would be the abbreviation for “hauptmann”, or captain. COA accompanies.
