Historic US Bomber Crewman's POW Grouping

Sold
$450.00

Description

This is another outstanding item from the Ron Wolin collection that I noticed right away as having exceptional historical value. Here is an assembly of paperwork and identity tags from a young radio operator whose B-24 was shot down over Budweis Czechoslovakia during the later stages of the war. It includes his registration papers, tags from two different Luft Dulags and Stalags, a very carefully worded letter from home, a 'how to deal with release from captivity' pamphlet, etc. This really gives an intimate view on how POWs were treated both in captivity and afterwards. Very historic and highly popular subject matter! For the finest collection or even a museum. COA accompanies.
