This is a killer Heer M42 chicken wire helmet, maker hkp64 with lot number 3602. The helmet retains a percentage of its finish, with the patina of heavy combat use and wear. The liner is intact and dark, showing weathering, wear and age. The chickenwire looks as if it grew on the helmet, it has “become one” with the surface. The look is exactly what one sees in the photos and newsreels of the Normandy front, with much fighting among the hedge rows. An outstanding wire camo combat piece. COA accompanies.
