Kriegsmarine Luger storage lock-box 'E.J. 1942'

A super rare and highly desirable KM / merchant navy issue lock-box that would've held a single P08 Luger pistol and its leather holster for use by commanding Officers aboard ships.Still with the original'P08 m. Tasche'stencilled inscription to the top of the lid, and the maker code and date 'E.J. 1942' and WaAWaffenamtproof marking to one side edge.It would have originally been security sealed through the locking clasp mechanism, and the seals were stamped with Kriegsmarine property markings.There is some evidence of old beetle infestation, mainly visible to the underside on one corner - but relatively minor and clearly this has been treated and is no longer active.One of the very best and rarest WWII era accessories for the iconic P08 Luger! With only a handful of such examples surviving to this day!
