M35 Heer Single Decal Ex-Chicken Wire BATTLE DAMAGE Helmet

This is an M35 Single decal Heer helmet by SE size 62, heat lot number #4349. The helmet shows extreme service wear, with wire remnants and traces of having had a chickenwire basket for camouflage. The decal is 75% present, the liner leather is cut out. Chistrap is not present. There are two sideways bullet strikes to the rear (–when machine guns and other high caliber weapons are extensively fired, the barrel overheats and the bullets tumble instead of spin, creating what is known as the “keyhole effect.”) This helmet has two classic keyhole strikes, coming from the left rear, suggesting the soldier was in retreat when fired upon.
