US WWI Trench Art Engraved Messkit, Quartermaster Roster and Locations, Kimball Collection

Original era manufacture. US WWI aluminum messkit. Engraved on the top of the lid, in amazing detail and clarity, is a unit roster and on the bottom of the dish, their service locations in France during WWI. This nicely decorated messkit was once part of the famed Trench Art collection of Jane A. Kimball, author of the book, 'Trench Art, An Illustrated History'.
