German WWII M1916 Pattern Steel Helmet Relic, SS & RZM Marked Skirt

Original era manufacture. German M1916 steel helmet, battlefield pick up, exhibiting a deep patina finish with considerable corrosion to the steel. The under side of the neck skirt displays a factory applied SS rune and RZM stamp on the surface. These areas have been cleaned away to reveal the markings. A collector note originally accompanied this helmet when we purchased it, stating that the crown corrosion had been repaired. It blends well and is difficult to notice. Likely an Eastern Front field recovered helmet.
