Description

Original period manufacture. A very complete and sound example of a Prussian enlisted shako, as worn by Jager, Telegraph and other units during WWI. All stitching is sound, both visors are secure. This example bears on the front the wappen as worn exclusively by the 10th Jager Battalion, stamped brass, with the battle honors Waterloo, Peninsula and Venta Del Pozo. Clear 1913 date on the interior, along with a period name tag. Brass mounted leather chinstrap, original era, but may be a replacement as the leather is brown, not black. Original Prussian field badge at the top, showing mothing and wear to the fabric.
