US WWII Named Good Conduct Medal, Gates

Original era manufacture. A slot brooch Army Good Conduct Medal engraved onto the reverse is the soldier's name, James L. Gates. Normal age and wear. Possibly James Lamar Gates, who enlisted in August 1941, and received a service related medical discharge in 1943. Died in 1976, buried in Mobile Alabama.
